Why This Site Exists

New Hampshire's legislature is waging a quiet war on public education. Not with a single dramatic bill — but with dozens of incremental attacks that defund schools, silence teachers, restrict what students can learn, and build the infrastructure to replace public education with a privatized system that serves the wealthy at the expense of everyone else.

Most people don't have time to track every bill filed in Concord. That's by design. The volume is the strategy — file enough bills and most will fly under the radar. By the time communities realize what happened, the damage is done.

nhpolitics.org exists to change that. We read every education-related bill so you don't have to. We explain what each bill actually does — not what the sponsor claims — and we name the people responsible.

What We Believe

  • Public education is a public good. Every child in New Hampshire deserves a well-funded school with qualified teachers, regardless of what town they live in.
  • Democracy requires transparency. Voters should know what their representatives are doing and why.
  • Follow the money. When a bill seems confusing, look at who benefits financially. That usually explains everything.
  • Local control means local control. Not the state overriding communities, and not ideological groups hijacking school boards.

What We're Not

  • We're not affiliated with any political party.
  • We're not opposed to reasonable reforms or accountability.
  • We're not anti-charter or anti-choice on principle — we're against the systematic defunding of the schools that serve 90% of NH kids.

How This Works

We monitor the NH legislature for bills that affect education, analyze them for their real-world impact, and publish our findings here. Bill data is sourced from LegiScan and the NH General Court. Our analysis is opinionated — we believe in public schools and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

If you see something wrong, have a tip on a bill we should cover, or want to get involved, reach out. This is a community project.
